Context

Mino Caggiula Architects is an architecture firm headquartered in Switzerland with a presence in Milan, working on projects in Switzerland, Italy, and international contexts. To meet growing client demand, the Lugano office is seeking a Senior Architect to join its executive design team.

Role Objective

The successful candidate will join the delivery team and work autonomously in preparing and coordinating tender packages, executive/construction documents, and architectural site supervision activities, in compliance with Swiss regulations. The role also involves managing and coordinating the various stakeholders involved in projects and on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare and coordinate tender packages, executive/construction documents, and architectural site supervision activities, in compliance with Swiss regulations
  • Independently manage, coordinate, and interact with specialist designers, consultants, and contractors in relation to the activities above
  • Liaise and interact with clients, authorities, and key on-site contacts
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture
  • At least 5 years of professional experience gained at Swiss architecture firms, with proven ability to manage projects as Project Lead, meeting the requirements and skills expected for the position
  • Knowledge of the procedures and approval processes for obtaining building permits in Ticino, as well as the applicable regulations
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Archicad software
  • Excellent command of Italian
  • On-site, full-time position

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with problem-solving, organizational, and individual/team working abilities

    Context

    Mino Caggiula Architects is an architecture firm headquartered in Switzerland with a presence in Milan, working on projects in Italy, Switzerland, and international contexts. The Milan office is in a phase of growth and will be involved both in projects for the Italian market and in activities supporting the Swiss office.

    Role Objective

    The successful candidate will join the delivery and site supervision team, with a focus on the executive/construction phase of projects, the technical management of permitting processes, and the coordination of activities required for project delivery. The role requires hands-on experience with projects that have reached the permitting and construction phase, with particular attention to the Italian market and the regulations applicable in Milan and northern Italy. Prior experience on projects in the construction phase in Switzerland, particularly in the Canton of Ticino, will be viewed positively.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and support the executive/construction phases of projects
    • Prepare and review technical documentation related to project delivery
    • Manage permitting and licensing processes, with a focus on Milan and the Italian market
    • Support the coordination of construction sites, contractors, and technical stakeholders
    • Liaise with area managers, project leads, and management
    • Progressively learn Swiss working practices and any procedures related to projects in the Canton of Ticino
    • Occasional presence in Switzerland within the limits allowed for cross-border activities

    Required Qualifications

    • Education in architecture
    • Hands-on experience in the executive/construction and/or permitting phase of projects
    • Knowledge of building practices and construction permits in Italy
    • Specific experience with, or strong familiarity with, the regulatory context of Milan
    • Ability to follow technical aspects, permitting processes, licenses, and delivery activities
    • Good command of English
    • Knowledge of ArchiCAD preferred; alternatively, willingness to learn it quickly

      The successful candidate will join the design team and contribute to the development of architectural projects, from the concept phase through preliminary and final design documentation, working alongside area managers, project leads, and management. The role requires an aesthetic sensibility, technical skill, and a willingness to embrace the firm’s design methodology.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Develop architectural concepts and design solutions consistent with the firm’s identity
      • Prepare preliminary and final proposals and project materials
      • Produce and update graphic and technical drawings
      • Support project leads and area managers throughout the various design phases
      • Coordinate with the internal team and, where necessary, with Swiss or international contacts
      • Learn and apply the firm’s internal methodology
      • Manage permitting and licensing processes, with a focus on Milan and the Italian market

      Required Qualifications

      • Education in architecture
      • Experience in architectural design, preferably gained at established firms
      • Knowledge of building practices and construction permits in Italy, northern Italy, and Milan; prior experience on projects in the construction phase in Switzerland, particularly in the Canton of Ticino, will be viewed positively
      • Ability to work on concepts and preliminary and final design development
      • Good aesthetic and design sensibility
      • Good ability to produce project documentation
      • Knowledge of English
      • Knowledge of ArchiCAD preferred; alternatively, willingness to learn it quickly, as well as Twinmotion, and familiarity with Adobe software, especially Photoshop
      • Proficiency with the main AI tools used in graphic design, rendering, and video

      Mino Caggiula Architects è uno studio di architettura con sede principale in Svizzera e presenza a Milano, impegnato su progetti in Italia, Svizzera e in contesti internazionali. La sede milanese è in una fase di rafforzamento e sarà coinvolta sia su progetti destinati al mercato italiano sia su progetti internazionali.

      Obiettivo del ruolo

      La figura sarà inserita nell’area progettazione e contribuirà allo sviluppo dei progetti architettonici, dalla fase di concept fino agli elaborati preliminari e definitivi, collaborando con capi area, capi progetto e direzione. Il ruolo richiede sensibilità estetica, capacità tecnica e disponibilità a inserirsi nella metodologia progettuale dello studio.

      Principali attività

      • sviluppo di concept architettonici e soluzioni progettuali coerenti con l’identità dello studio
      • elaborazione di proposte preliminari, definitive e materiali di progetto
      • produzione e aggiornamento degli elaborati grafici e tecnici
      • supporto ai capi progetto e ai capi area nelle diverse fasi progettuali
      • coordinamento con il team interno e, ove necessario, con referenti svizzeri o internazionali
      • apprendimento e applicazione della metodologia interna dello studio
      • gestione di pratiche, permessi e licenze, con focus su Milano e sul mercato italiano

       

      Requisiti richiesti

      • formazione in architettura
      • esperienza nella progettazione architettonica, preferibilmente maturata presso studi strutturati
      • conoscenza delle pratiche edilizie e dei permessi per costruire in Italia, nord italia e Milano, vengono valutate positivamente potenziali esperienze su progetti in fase esecutiva in Svizzera con focus sul Canton ticino.
      • capacità di lavorare su concept, sviluppo preliminare e definitivo
      • buona sensibilità estetica e progettuale
      • buona capacità di produzione degli elaborati
      • conoscenza della lingua inglese
      • preferibile conoscenza di ArchiCAD; in alternativa, disponibilità ad apprenderlo rapidamente, come pure Twinmotion, conoscenza dei programmi Adobe, specialmente Photoshop.
      • padronanza delle principali AI in ambito grafico/render/video.
