The new school looks to the future of the city.

The project, developed for the competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education – Mission Unit for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP), envisages the construction of an infrastructure capable of offering multiple opportunities for education, teaching, and relationships.

Positioned on a north-south axis to maximize solar gain, the new building is organized around a large, triple-height central volume around which spaces for sharing and socializing are developed.

All the training and meeting rooms are designed to be modular and adaptable to changing needs. The use of environmentally friendly structural timber partitions allows the creation of flexible and welcoming classrooms while ensuring thermal and acoustic comfort.

Externally, the two ends of the new volume accommodate access and educational functions on covered outdoor terraces, integrated with the existing facility through alignments north to the gymnasium and south to the entrance.

All spaces, indoor and outdoor, are designed to encourage learning both inside and outside the school and to stimulate a real connection with the city.

A great deal of attention has been paid to exercise areas to promote the well-being that comes from physical activity and to integrate it into the school day. These are complemented by rest and breakout areas: islands characterized by the presence of seating and vegetation that encourage the outdoor space to be experienced in different ways and at different times of the day.

The aim is to open the complex to a variety of uses, creating multi-generational spaces animated by different people and activities that can make a concrete contribution to the students’ growth.
